Ministry Changes and Opportunities

Good Afternoon Church,

What a wonderful time we had as a Church family last night when we kicked off our Wednesday night family discipleship ministry with a spaghetti fellowship meal. What an encouragement it was for all who turned out as we were able to spend some sweet time building relationships and learning a little bit more about the logistics of how Wednesday nights will work. We had so many turn out that I don’t think we could have fit another family into our fellowship hall. That is a good problem to have! What a blessing to see your eager desire to grow and serve together as we seek to strive for the unity of faith in ministry endeavors that ultimately bring God glory.

Ministry Changes and Opportunities

I pray you will not miss out on all the many opportunities that stand before you to both get involved and deepen your connection with your church family as you grow in your walk with the Lord. Many of you have already signed up to serve on Sunday morning and/or Wednesday nights, and it has been so encouraging to see most of our needs in Children’s Ministry already met. However, there are still a number of places for people to serve. So those of you who are not serving regularly are still needed, and remember, a large part of growing as a follower of Christ is serving the Body of Christ. Therefore, if you are not specifically plugged into a ministry of service, please see me or any of the elders as it is our duty and delight to help both equip you for, and enlist you in, a ministry where you can personally and actively help us in our mission to proclaim the Word locally and globally for the glory of our great God!

Now, I want to inform you of some exciting upcoming ministry events that you will want to prepare for and take part in. First, let me remind you that this Sunday, October 8th we will be implementing our new service times. So, adult Sunday school will begin at 8:30 am with the ladies’ class being taught by Dottie Sapper and meeting in rooms 204-05 at the back of the sanctuary. I will be teaching the men’s Sunday school class and we will be meeting in the fellowship hall downstairs. Remember that at this time we are not offering any Children’s or Youth ministry Sunday school classes. Worship Service will begin at 10:00 am with nursery and Children’s Church being provided during the Worship service for your little ones from ages 0-kindergarten.

This Sunday will be a very special service as we finish out the sermon this week with an elder recommission and congregation recommitment to faithfully follow the plan set by God for biblical eldership in and over His Church. You will not want to miss this as we further prepare to learn the many life lessons given in Titus two by considering the most important truth of living every day to the Glory of God in everything! We will also enjoy some fellowship time following this special service with pastries, donuts, coffee and juice provided where we can further praise the Lord together for all He has done, is doing, and will do in and through our lives as we submit to His Word! We will close out the day on Sunday with our monthly Concert of Prayer where we come together as a church body to personally intercede on behalf of one another, that the gospel would impact our families, the lost around us, other believers, and our nation, as well as to corporately seek God’s grace and mercy for all our ministry endeavors. I hope you can make it and worship with us both morning and evening, for we have so much to be thankful for!

Also, I want to highlight for you the upcoming GAMA (Grace Advance Mid-Atlantic) Annual Bible Conference which will be held on Saturday, October 21st at Hope Bible Church in Columbia, Maryland. This is an all-day conference where we come together with other like-minded churches from our region to study God’s Word, grow in our walk with Christ, deepen relationships of ministry partnership as we fellowship around our unity in Christ, and corporately worship our Lord together. This is a wonderful time for all, and you will not want to miss out on this special event. We had about 25 from our Church that went last year, and everyone that went was encouraged in heart and uplifted in spirit as they fellowshipped all day around the Word. There is even child care for your little ones so that young families can attend. Hope Bible Church does a phenomenal job hosting this event, and their whole church sees this as a ministry to serve churches like ours, so you do not want to miss that blessing! Here is a link… to the conference website where you can find out more details including main speakers and breakout session options as well as the place for your online registration. The cost for this event is $25.00 per person with an additional cost of $5.00 per child that you register for child care. If you are in legitimate need for financial assistance and want to attend this event, please see me as I do not want the cost to be the reason for you not attending.

Looking forward to worshipping together this Lord’s Day as we ultimately gather to praise the name of our great and glorious God, for His is worthy of all our honor all the time!

Yours for the Master,

Pastor Matt
