Women Walking Wisely – Study in 1 Samuel – Monday, November 18th

Our third monthly session in our study of I Samuel is coming up! In I Samuel, we are seeing “the transformation of Israel from a spiritually corrupt and fragmented collection of tribes in which “every man did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25), through the failed first kingship of Saul who rejected the commandment of God (1 Samuel 13:13), to a united kingdom under God’s chosen king, David, “a man after God’s own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14), who foreshadows the ultimate King to come. We are being introduced to a variety of people, places, and events. And ultimately, we will consistently see a faithful God who continues to call His people to Himself and point to the need of the Messiah as God’s plan unfolds in making a way for the Savior.

This month at Women Walking Wisely, we will be looking into I Samuel 9-15. In this section of Scripture, we will be looking into the anointing of Saul as king of Israel, and yet at the same time, we will see in God’s Word, Saul’s disobedient heart in the choices he made, and ultimately the beginning of the fall of his kingship.
