Christian Cross

What is L4D?

The L4D Community is an eclectic and diverse group focused on Living for Doctrine, Devotion, Duty, and Dying. The primary activity is a weekly group study and discussion of outside books or books of the Bible.

Doctrine represents our desire for transformation. We are part of a world in conflict where anything is acceptable, despite what the Bible teaches, and nearly every last remnant of righteousness is under attack. As a Belcroft Community, we commit ourselves to the doctrinal beliefs of the church and recognize that to achieve Biblical victory we must lay the path of Biblical doctrine as the foundation for our lives.

Devotion represents our commitment to God and each other through worship and connection. We are living in the fallout of a sin-cursed world and yet, instead of a God of war, we have a God of love. He deserves our endless praise and worship as well as our commitment to love and care for one another as Christ loves us.

Duty represents our responsibility for outreach. It is God’s desire that no man should be left for dead to the dark void of eternal damnation, but that all men would hear the message of salvation and come to know the risen Messiah. We believe that every Christian has received the call of duty to spread the Gospel of Christ.

Dying represents our obedience to God through service. We recognize that we are at war against the crafts of this world and that to achieve Biblical victory, we must be willing to sacrifice in whatever God asks of us. Life is a battlefield and we are willing to die to our own desires so that we may live in the perfect will of God. It is only through obedience to His commands that we can conquer the evil that resides in this world.

Who is L4D?

Simply put, we are a group of people who cannot be defined.

The purpose of our Community is to sow Biblical victory to and through families represented in our congregation by connecting those who cannot be defined.

We are not bound by age, background, interests, or abilities. L4D is one of the most eclectic Communities found at Belcroft. In many ways, we are a representation of the diversity and demographics of the church. The incredible thing is that it works so well. Despite our seemingly conflicting personalities or stories, we have come together in unity and love. Allowing our wide variety to enrich our lives, we embrace our uniqueness and our diversity.

We have people of every background and walk of life.

We are teenagers, 20, 30, and 40-yr olds. We are single, dating, married, and divorced. We are children and parents. We are teachers and students. We are civilians and enlisted. We are Republicans and Democrats; conservatives, liberals, and everything in-between. We work part time, full time, overtime; we are contractors, volunteers, and unemployed. We come in every shape and size with heritages from around the world. We have been around the world and never left the time zone.

We are accountants, artists, designers, instructors, interpreters, lobbyists, nurses, scientists, servers, software engineers, trainers.

We are bikers, campers, gamers, cooks, musicians, crafters, readers, and so much more.

We study God’s word, we pray, we worship God.
We are missionaries, church leaders, and servants. We are shepherds and sheep (and pandas).

We are friends. We are sinners. But most importantly, we are children of God.
